Is It Permissible to Keep Cats at Home As Pets?

I love cats so much and I want to keep a cat as a pet in my house but I wonder whether it is permissible to keep it just because I love to keep or just for fun?

Even if only for fun, owning a cat is permissible

Cat is an animal that is permissible to feed by our religion.
Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin:
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:
“It (the cat) is not unclean: it is one of those who go round among you.”
(Dawud, Book 1, Hadith 76)

On condition that you do not persecute the animal, keeping a cat at home is permissible

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
The Prophet said:
"A woman entered the (Hell) Fire because of a cat which she had tied, neither giving it food nor setting it free to eat from the vermin of the earth
."

(Bukhari, Book 4, Volume 54, Hadith 535)

1) Here, there is evidence which confirms the woman (who is exposed to hellish torture) was faithless and her torture was increased because she caused the cat’s death, there is also evidence which confirms the woman was a believer and she is exposed to torture because of this deed. Commentators have dwelled upon both of these possibilities.
2) This hadith has been considered as an evidence that on condition that you do not persecute it, feeding a cat at home is permissible by our religion. This hadith has even been considered as an evidence that on condition that to you take care of its provision, feeding animals like cats at home is permissible, too. (Kutub-i Sitta)
