What if a husband loses his sexual desires?
I am married. 3 years before, I lost all my sexual desires. I really feel bad for my wife as she is young. Please suggest what shall I do?
First of all, we would like to express our deep sorrow for your problems. May Allah help you with your hardships and may He (swt) bestow you and your family strength to get over your tests and reach His pleasure.
Islam gives importance to satisfying sexual needs in marriage as it strengthens the bonds between a couple and helps the spouses guard their modesty. This is why failure or inability to provide sexual gratification may be a ground for divorce in Islamic law.
So, if there is any hindrance to fulfill this essential marital responsibility, the spouses should definitely search for solutions to remove the obstacles. This is vital for them to ward off themselves and their families from haram (such as extramarital relations) and to provide the needs of life and body which are entrusted to man by Allah (swt).
Thus, you should immediately consult expert doctors to discover and identify if your problem comes out of an illness and look for solutions to overcome it.
Never forget to ask Allah(swt) the Merciful, the Beneficent for help and never lose your hope!
"O ye who believe! Seek help in steadfastness and prayer. Lo! Allah is with the steadfast." (Surah al Baqara, 153)
"Call upon Me, I will answer you." " (Surah al Mumin, 60)
"And Ayub, when he cried to his Lord, (saying): Harm has afflicted me, and Thou art the most Merciful of the merciful."
"Therefore We responded to him and took off what harm he had, and We gave him his family and the like of them with them: a mercy from Us and a reminder to the worshippers." (Surah al Anbiya, 83- 84)
"And Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: O my Lord leave me not alone; and Thou art the best of inheritors." (Surah al Anbiya, 89)
If there is anything that we can be helpful to you, please let us know. May Allah (swt) guide you and all to the best way...
Best Regards!
