Will People of Jannah Be of The Same Age?
Will all people of jannahbe of the same age in the hereafter? If so, what will we call our fathersand mothers there while being of the same age?
Narrated Muaadh ibn Jabal :
“The people of Paradise will enter Paradise hairless, beardless with their eyes anointed with kohl, aged thirty or thirty-three years.” (Tirmidhi, Musned)
"[Every man] will be raised of the age of 30 years." (Tabarani )
“Whoever of the people of Paradise dies, young or old, will be aged thirty-three in Paradise and will never grow older, and the same applies to the people of Hell.” (Tirmidhi)
The expressions like “father, mother, uncle, grandmother” require the feelings of respect; however the age is not so important in terms of respect in such relationships. For example, there are aunts and uncles who are younger than their nephews and nieces. In such a situation, the younger age doesn’t harm or reduce the attitude of being an “uncle”.
In the time of Blessed Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), when Hadrat Abubakr (ra) was asked the age of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), he responded: “I’m older than him (pbuh); however he is bigger than me.” By these words, Hadrat Abubakr (ra) expresses that the age is not the only factor for the feelings of respect. As it is possible to respect the younger people in this world, likewise we will feel pleasure to respect our fathers, mothers and elder people in jannah despite being of the same age and address them with the same expressions of respect.
Besides, like our whole past, the way of our addressing people is kept in our memories. As Allah is Hafiz (swt) (Preserver) who preserves our memories, it is possible that we will remember our addressing words to elder people and will use the same expressions willinglyin the hereafter despite being of the same age.
“No one in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen but Allah…” (Surah al-Naml, 65)
Allah knows the best…
